CoreReach blocks unwanted calls in two ways: two optional filters you switch on yourself, and a custom list of phone numbers you maintain. Both live under Agent → Spam Filtering.
Optional filters
Two filters sit at the top of the Spam Filtering page. Both are off by default — tick a box and click Save to turn one on, untick and save to turn it off again. They work independently, so you can use one without the other.
Block Spam & Robocalls — blocks callers identified as robocallers. Accuracy is high, but a small number of legitimate callers are misidentified.
Block Toll-Free Calls — blocks every 1-800, 1-888, 1-877 style number.
Why they're off by default
Because a blocked call leaves no trace you'd notice. It's declined outright — the caller gets no greeting and can't leave a voicemail, and you get no recording, no transcript, and no notification. Blocked calls are also hidden from your Calls list and your dashboard totals by default. So if a filter ever blocks someone you wanted to hear from, nothing tells you it happened.
Leaving the filters off has the opposite failure: unwanted calls reach your agent, use some of your minutes, and show up in your call history — annoying, but visible, and you can switch a filter on the moment it starts bothering you.
Toll-free is worth extra thought before you enable it. It isn't a spam detector — it blocks an entire category of number, and plenty of legitimate businesses call from toll-free lines: answering services, dispatchers, insurance and claims desks, alarm monitoring companies, and larger clients calling from a main switchboard. If you take after-hours or emergency work, these can be your most valuable calls.
If you'd rather never miss a call, leave both off and use the specific-number list below instead.
Blocking specific numbers
Below the two filters, you can block up to 50 specific phone numbers. This is useful for known nuisance callers, competitors, or numbers you've decided to ignore. It works whether or not the filters above are switched on.
Each entry has:
Phone number — a US 10-digit number, validated when you tab out. Duplicates are flagged so you don't accidentally block the same number twice.
Note (optional) — context for yourself (e.g., "Persistent telemarketer," "Ex-employee — do not call back").
To add one, click Add Number To Block (or Add Another Number if your list isn't empty) and fill in the fields. The Add button disables once you've hit 50. Numbers are edited in place and saved with the Save button at the bottom. Deletion is per-row via the delete button — there's no confirmation step, so be sure before you click.
There's no bulk import, reordering, scheduled blocking, allow list, or "block all unknown numbers" option — only the targeted list above.
What happens when a call is blocked
A blocked call:
Doesn't reach your agent. Your agent never picks up.
Can't leave a voicemail. The call is declined, so the caller has no way to reach you and no way to tell why.
Doesn't use any of your minutes. Blocked calls aren't billable.
Is recorded in your call history with the Blocked outcome and a label showing why it was blocked: Specified number, Spam call, or Toll-free number.
By default, blocked calls are filtered out of the Calls list view to keep your call history focused on real interactions with your agent. To review them, change the outcome filter to include Blocked.
